THEIR LOVE STORY
Alyssa and Skye began their love story as friends both studying English in college. After finishing their thesis together, Skye headed for Malaysia and Alyssa to South Korea to teach English. When they both returned to the States, their friendship grew through sharing stories of their adventures overseas. They began dating during the pandemic and got creative with their “at home dates.” When it came time to propose, Alyssa took Skye back to their first date spot, in front of a gazebo on Lake Geneva, with a friend hidden to capture the moment Skye said “YES.” Alyssa continued the surprises with all of their friends waiting back at their apartment to celebrate with mini-Bundt cakes. Little did Alyssa know that Skye had a trick up her sleeve. A few weeks after Alyssa popped the question, Skye planned a scavenger hunt on a retreat with their friends. All the clues led Alyssa back to Skye where she performed an original song and proposed as well.
THEIR WEDDING
Alyssa and Skye put a lot of thought and intention into their boardwalk themed wedding as a nod to all of their dates at Navy Pier. They chose a pastel color palette with lavender, sage, peach, and seafoam. To imitate the food truck feel, they opted for various stations with all of their favorites and even found a funnel cake food truck to cater dessert alongside a Ferris wheel full of mini-Bundt cakes. Alyssa and Skye chose an intimate candlelight dinner, creating the perfect atmosphere for moody photography. They completed the boardwalk look with lawn games and a grand balloon arch. Although their wedding was everything they pictured, Alyssa and Skye’s favorite memory was running across the street to Babam, a local Boba tea shop, for a moment alone.
