Week Of Must Do’s

It’s the final countdown... but what should I be doing?

You’re in the home stretch and after months of planning you are finally seven days away from your big day! As the excitement (and maybe stress) sets in, don’t forget these crucial tasks in the final days leading up to your wedding.

Get Organized

If you haven’t already, now is the time to get all your décor items in order. Alphabetize your escort cards, get your welcome bags packed and ready for drop-off, and organize ALL décor items. Be sure to share a full list of every décor item with your coordinator and venue to ensure all items are returned back to you.

We recommend purchasing small bins for each table to fill with their table number, place cards or meal indicators, and any additional décor items you are providing for the tables (votives, runners, menu cards). In addition to your table bins, collect all other décor items in larger bins by “zones" (guest book table, gift table, memory table, etc.). If you are unable to organize your items in separate bins, make sure you label everything. Trust us, your coordinator will thank you!

Tip // Set up each table exactly how you envision it and take a picture to include in each bin.

The last thing you will want to organize is your tip envelopes. Place each tip into a clearly labeled envelope to be handed out at your event. Once you gather all gratuities be sure to plan how these will be given out.

Get Packed

Whether you’re getting married down the street or traveling to a destination get your personal items organized and your overnight bag packed. If you're leaving for your honeymoon within a few days of your wedding pack all your essentials now - you don’t want to spend your first few days of newlywed bliss wondering if you packed sunscreen.

Now that your personal items are in order get your ‘wedding day emergency kit’ ready with essentials like a sewing kit, spray deodorant, safety pins, wet wipes, etc. If you are planning on giving any gifts the morning of your wedding, be sure to get those wrapped and packed! Lastly but certainty not least, make sure your wedding bands and marriage license are in a safe place where they won’t be forgotten.

Prioritize Self-Care

Make any minor beauty appointments like getting your nails done, getting a wax or facial, or even getting a massage ahead of time to ensure availability. This goes for your groom too!

Tip // Only schedule beauty treatments you have done before. If you’re not sure how your skin or body will react, it’s not worth it.

Final Confirmations

Your Wedding Party: Make sure everyone is aware of their wedding-weekend duties, designate point people to help gather family members for photos, and check with anyone giving a speech.

Tip // Have your speech-givers send a copy to your coordinator – just in case!

Your Vendors: By now you would have already sent your final guest count and payments to any necessary vendors but double check dates, times, locations, and services with each vendor and venue.

Each Other: With all the last-minute wedding tasks and family coming into town, many couples forget to check-in with each other. Take the time to relax together and remember why you are getting married in the first place.
